Contact angle and roll-off angle measurements

A contact angle goniometer (Ramé-Hart 260) was used to measure the apparent contact angles and roll-off angles using ≈ 5 μl of droplets. The contact angles were measured by advancing or receding the droplets on the surface using a syringe (Gilmont). The roll-off angles were measured by tilting the stage until the droplet rolled off from the surface. At least six measurements were performed on each surface. The errors in contact angle and roll-off angle measurements were ±2° and ±1°, respectively. The apparent advancing contact angle Embedded Image, the apparent receding contact angle Embedded Image, and the roll-off angle ω of the liquids used in this study are listed in section S1.
