The temperature of the emitters was measured using T-type thermocouples (TT-T-40-SLE-25, Omega) installed at their back side (center of the main and guard) and connected to a DAQ module (USB-TC, Measurement Computing). The DAQ was enclosed in a reflective aluminum box to minimize temperature gradients between the thermocouple junctions and the DAQ cold junction sensors. The thermocouples were calibrated before the experiments in an ethylene glycol solution using a chiller (A25, Thermo Scientific) and a resistance temperature detector (P-M-A-1/4-3-1/2-PS-12, Omega), which resulted in an uncertainty of ±0.3°C. The data acquisition was done using LabVIEW.
