STEM image simulations of Co6W6C were performed using commercially available and accelerated multislice simulation software (elbis, BioNet Laboratory Inc.) (33, 34). The microscopic parameters in the simulation were set to an accelerating voltage of 200 kV, an aberration-free probe with a semiconvergence angle of 22 mrad, and a specimen thickness of 6 to 10 nm.
