NK cells were depleted with an intraperitoneal injection of anti-NK1.1 (clone PK136 from Bioxcell; 200 μg per mouse) or mouse IgG2a isotype control (from Bioxcell) on day 3 before infection and on day one after infection, as previously described [5].
