Female (NOD) SCID mice (Jackson Laboratory) aged 6-8 weeks were used to establish tumor xenograft models. Experiments were conducted according to institutional animal care and use committee (IACUC) policy. ARK1shSCRM cells (1×107) were resuspended in 1 mg/mL Matrigel (Corning, Corning, NY) and injected subcutaneously onto the flank. After tumor engraftment, tumors were measured every three days with calipers and tumor volume was calculated using the equation V=l*w*π/6 (l=longest diameter, w=shortest, perpendicular diameter). Relative tumor volume for control and treatment conditions (VC or VT was calculated by normalizing tumor volume at day 14 over tumor volume at day 1. Relative tumor growth (VT / VC) was then calculated for each treatment condition.
